Caliber 7135
High frequency movement

Entirely developed and manufactured in-house, caliber 7135 operates at the high, unprecedented Rolex frequency of 5 hertz, or 36,000 vibrations per hour. This allows it to measure time to the nearest tenth of a second. It also boasts a particularly elegant aesthetic. The transparent caseback thus allows one to admire the brilliance of the openworked yellow gold oscillating weight, as well as the finesse of the Rolex Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges.

Caliber 7135
Dynapulse escapement

The most significant innovation, the Dynapulse escapement of the caliber 7135, represents a revolutionary alternative to the traditional Swiss lever escapement. Made mainly of silicon components and benefiting from an innovative architecture, this sequential distribution escapement is very light, virtually insensitive to magnetic fields and offers significantly higher energy efficiency than a conventional escapement.

Caliber 7135
Cutting-edge oscillator

The oscillator of the caliber 7135 features a balance staff whose material and manufacturing were a real challenge, an optimized brass balance wheel and a Syloxi balance spring made of silicon. The patented balance staff is made of a new high-tech ceramic, exclusive to Rolex, and laser-shaped – a first for the brand. The optimized Paraflex shock absorbers give the movement increased shock resistance in all positions. Finally, the different materials used to create the oscillator components enable it to withstand high magnetic fields.

Flat Jubilee Bracelet
Become one with the case

The Land-Dweller reinterprets the design of so-called integrated bracelet watches, which is characterized by a seamless and seamless aesthetic link between case and bracelet. Inspired by the iconic Jubilee bracelet, introduced on the Datejust in 1945, the Flat Jubilee bracelet was specially designed for the Land-Dweller. It is distinguished by the flat surface of its links, an exclusive feature among our metal bracelets. It also features a unique interplay of finishes, with polished center links and edge links featuring a technical satin finish on the top and polished sides. The polished chamfer on the upper edge of the caseband and edge links creates, when viewed from the side, a circle of light that reinforces the overall harmony.

Dial
Honeycomb decor

Surrounded by a sloping flange, this highly graphic dial features a geometric honeycomb pattern: a honeycomb decoration created using a high-tech laser. The surface, with a fine satin finish on the intense white dials or a sunburst finish on the ice blue dials, is produced using traditional methods. On the versions with a Chromalight display, the open luminescent numerals and indexes, whose luminescent material is flush at each end, are exclusive to the range. They give the Land-Dweller optimal readability in all circumstances. The hands, also luminescent, were specially designed for the model. The seconds hand stands out with the design of its counterweight, which echoes that of the dial's honeycombs.

Superlative Chronometer Certification

Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller 40 and the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller 36 benefit from the Superlative Chronometer certification, redefined by Rolex in 2015. This designation certifies that each watch leaving the brand's workshops has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories and according to its own criteria, following the official certification of its movement by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer is thus of the order of –2/+2 seconds per day – the rate deviation tolerated by the brand for a finished watch is much lower than that allowed by the COSC for the official certification of the movement alone.

The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that comes with every Rolex watch and is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.
