Paying homage to OMEGA's legacy in space exploration, the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon features a 44.25 mm case in polished and satin-finished black ceramic. The polished bezel, also in black ceramic, features a Liquidmetal™ tachymeter scale.
Beneath the sapphire crystal, the ceramic dial has been laser-blasted and features a small seconds subdial at 9 o'clock and a 60-minute and 12-hour counter at 3 o'clock. The hour and minute hands, as well as the beveled hour markers, are coated in black and with black Super-LumiNova (green luminescence). The central chronograph hand is lacquered red for a distinctive look.
Visible through the case back, the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9908 hand-wound movement features a special "black edition" finish, including a matte black mainplate and bridges, as well as black lacquered engravings. The watch is fitted with a black rubber strap adorned with a moon-surface motif on the reverse, a ceramic folding clasp, and a ceramic-coated titanium spring-loaded folding clasp.
