In 2005, OMEGA launched its Planet Ocean line, keeping in mind its maritime heritage. Today, the elegant OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer Chronograph pays homage to OMEGA's diving watch heritage. This model features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a blue ceramic dial with Arabic numerals and dials. a date window at 6 o'clock. The dial is equipped with a small seconds hand as well as 60-minute and 12-hour counters for intuitive reading of running time. The unidirectional rotating blue ceramic diving bezel, with a Liquidmetal™ diving scale, is mounted on a 45.5mm stainless steel case. The watch is also distinguished by its screw-down honeycomb design and its stainless steel bracelet closed by a patented extendable folding clasp. The OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer chronograph is water resistant to 600 meters (60 bars / 2000 feet) and equipped with a helium valve. The OMEGA Master Chronometer Caliber 9900 at the heart of this watch is visible through the transparent case back. To obtain Master Chronometer certification, it had to pass eight rigorous tests established by METAS, the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology.
