During the Five Deeps Expedition in 2019, the Ultra Deep prototype made history by descending to the deepest point on Earth. Following this record dive, OMEGA launched a collection aimed at everyday adventurers. A watch tested in real conditions during its development, waterproof up to 6,000 meters and compliant with the ISO 6425:2018 standard for saturation diving watches, certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
This 45.5mm model features a sturdy O-MEGASTEEL case and bracelet and an extraordinary dial that pays homage to the mysteries of the deep. Its design is an accurate depiction of the bottom of the Challenger Deep, the deepest point in the Mariana Trench, mapped by members of the Five Deeps Expedition using nearly a million sonar points. Its lacquered finish, obtained by letting an ocean of lacquer flow onto the dial, gives a superb impression of depth. The dial has a playful side. A UV light reveals the words "OMEGA WAS HERE", pointing to the world diving record of 10,935 meters and showing the Western, Central and Eastern basins.
The caseback features a laser-engraved version of the commemorative Seamaster logo depicting Poseidon with a trident and two seahorses: the original OMEGA logo dating from 1956 and the current design of the House. This model has the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 8912.
