It was the exploits and adventures of the astronauts of the Apollo 8 mission that inspired the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon full black ceramic. Today, it is the ever-changing shadow of the moon that has presided over the creation of the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon “Black Black”.
This all-ceramic, all-black 44.25 mm model has a polished and satin-brushed caseband, a matt dial and a matching clasp on a nylon strap with a black coating.
It is nicknamed “Black Black” because of its blackened applied indexes and its blackened and satin-brushed Moonwatch hands, all dressed in black Super-LumiNova. The traditional counters at 3 and 9 o'clock are also matt black, and the ceramic bezel is accompanied by a black lacquered tachymeter scale. The watch is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Caliber 9300.
