New watches 2025
Rolex 1908The Perpetual 1908 in 18 ct yellow gold is now available with a seven-link bracelet, crafted entirely from this precious metal. Thanks to its original geometry, the Settimo bracelet combines finesse and comfort, in complete elegance.
Thin, supple and comfortable, this unique bracelet with seven very small links is entirely polished and thus stands out for the richness of its reflections. With its design, reminiscent of jewelry-inspired bracelets that were worn with certain elegant vintage watches, it fits perfectly with the spirit of the Perpetual collection, conceived by Rolex as a tribute to watchmaking tradition.
The 1908 is equipped with the caliber 7140, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology, which allows it to display small seconds in addition to the hours and minutes. The caliber 7140 is distinguished by bridges decorated with Rolex Côtes de Genève and an openworked oscillating weight.
Inspired by one of Rolex's first Perpetual rotor watches, the 1908 belongs to the Perpetual collection, launched in 2023, which harmoniously blends a reinterpretation of traditional watchmaking style with the quintessence of the brand's expertise and aesthetic heritage. This elegant and understated watch was named "1908" in homage to the year in which Hans Wilsdorf coined the name "Rolex" to sign his watchmaking creations and registered the trademark in Switzerland. The 1908 is distinguished by a design in which the simplicity of the display lends all its strength to the watch and by selected details that give it a unique identity. It perfectly embodies the spirit of the Perpetual collection, the essence of which is the celebration of the noblest art of watchmaking.
The 1908 features a sleek dial featuring Arabic numerals 3, 9, and 12 and faceted hour markers. The hour hand is Breguet-style, while the minute hand is sword-shaped. A small seconds counter is located at 6 o'clock, surmounted by the words "Superlative Chronometer" inscribed in an arc.
The 1908 features a 39 mm diameter case with graceful lines and a transparent caseback that allows the aesthetic refinement of the movement and the rotations of the oscillating weight to be admired. The curve of the caseband's lugs is emphasized by slightly chamfered upper edges, while the bezel is divided into a lower section adorned with delicate fluting and a domed upper section. Made of virtually scratch-resistant sapphire, the domed crystal and transparent caseback benefit from an anti-reflective treatment. Guaranteed water-resistant to a depth of 50 meters, the case optimally protects the movement inside. In the version presented, it is crafted from 18 ct yellow gold.
The 1908 is equipped with caliber 7140, a movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex, unveiled in 2023 at the model's launch and reserved for it. A concentrate of technology, this self-winding mechanical movement delivers high performance, particularly in terms of precision, autonomy, user comfort, and reliability. Caliber 7140 features meticulous aesthetics, in particular bridges decorated with Rolex Côtes de Genève – this decoration is distinguished from traditional Côtes de Genève by the presence of a fine polished groove between each rib.
Caliber 7140 is powered by a self-winding Perpetual rotor system. Thanks to the architecture of its barrel and the superior efficiency of its escapement, it benefits from a power reserve of approximately 66 hours.
The 1908 version presented is accompanied by a Settimo bracelet. This new metal bracelet, crafted from 18 ct yellow gold, is distinguished by its finesse and elegance. It fits the wrist perfectly and thus offers great wearing comfort. Thanks to its links composed of seven very small, slightly domed and fully polished links, it also provides a feeling of lightness. Reserved for the 1908, the Settimo bracelet benefits from a patented attachment system on the case middle and is equipped with an invisible Crownclasp with folding clasp.
Like all Rolex watches, the Perpetual 1908 benefits from the Superlative Chronometer certification, redefined by Rolex in 2015. This title attests that each watch leaving the brand's workshops has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories and according to its own criteria, following the official certification of its movement by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The internal certification tests cover the watch as a whole, once the movement is cased, to ensure its superlative performance on the wrist in terms of precision, water resistance, self-winding and power reserve. The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer is thus of the order of –2/+2 seconds per day – the rate deviation tolerated by the brand for a finished watch is much lower than that allowed by the COSC for the official certification of the movement alone.
The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that comes with every Rolex watch and is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.
